Frequent Asked Questions:

  • Q01: I get an Error of 'Failed to Sync, Err=0X80004005' or 'Failed to Sync, Err=0x80070005' when sync

    A:In Smartphone WM5 and WM5 Pocket PC phone device and also some latest Smartphone 2003 SE, the remote dll executive access rights is closed on the device by default, these device commonly called 'Locked' machine.(See MSDN). We have made a unlock patch which execute on your device to unlock it. Please download XNULK.exe and execute it on your device and reboot, once it was done the device is unlocked and can be sync. This patch only need execute once on your device, not every time you do the sync. Also after a hard reset of your device you need to run it again.

  • Q02: I can not make XNote going forward in 'Step1: Load Notes Address Book', system keep asking me 'Please Drag and Drop your Lotus Notes shortcut into Anchor windows below'

    A: To call Lotus Notes API, XNotes need to know 2 parameters from your current lotus notes, the first one is the path of the Notes.exe located, the second one is the path of Notes.ini. If you know these two path, you can provide XNotes these information manually, once these information provided, XNotes will skip the first step of detect Notes setting. The detail is:

    Suppose you have known your Notes.exe is located at c:\Program File\Notes and Notes.ini is located at c:\Notes\Data

    1.Open Regedit by Start->Run->Regedit

    2.Open the registry of: \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\tntsoft\XNOTES\NOTES

    3.Find out two key, 'EXE' and 'INI'

    4.Double click 'EXE', and paste 'c:\Program File\Notes' into it, then close

    5.Double click 'INI', and paste 'c:\Notes\Data' into it. then close

    Launch XNotes again, you should skip the first detect Notes setting steps.
